Job Training Foundation

The Job Training Foundation is responsible for the coaching and educational opportunities for teenagers and young adults during their internships at the jobfactory.
In addition to gaining work experience in one of the business areas
of the AG or the Foundation, the young people and young adults go through
adults an application program. They participate in training courses in German, general education, mathematics, personality development
training, Microsoft Office programs, financial education and sports activities and benefit from individual coaching.

The Job Training Foundation includes six additional business areas, all within a protected environment. These business areas offer low-threshold work and are particularly suitable for young people who lack the soft skills required for an internship in the mainstream labor market.

Work areas

In addition to individual coaching, training courses, the application program, and Lab 4.0 (starting in 2021), the Job Training Foundation has three dedicated business areas. Internships in the fields of industry, packaging, and studios provide young people with a launch pad into the professional world. Here, the young people receive even more intensive support from the foundation's team. The products and services produced here are sold to a diverse clientele through various channels, just like in the AG's business areas with the young people.

Work training module

The “Work Training” module includes at least three days of practical work experience.
Initially, all adolescents and young adults complete their work training in the work areas of the Job Training Foundation. Once they have mastered the basic skills, they transfer to one of the work areas of Job Factory Basel AG. The adolescents and young adults are supported by social workers and specialists in the respective departments.

Application training module

The trainees regularly and actively apply for suitable apprenticeships, trial weeks and internships and receive individual support.
The personal career aspirations are determined through interest tests and intensive discussions about one's own skills, strengths, and weaknesses, and are continually reflected upon. A significant component of the application training is research: finding open apprenticeships, getting to know potential training companies through their websites, and establishing contacts through phone calls. Each application file is tailored precisely to the potential employer.

School Education Module

The goal of the lessons is to refresh and deepen existing school knowledge in mathematics, German, and general education, thus facilitating the transition to vocational school. Weekly attendance fosters close contact and exchange between all participants. In small groups, the trainees learn according to the principles of individualization and differentiation. This allows us to optimally supervise and support them without pressure to perform or stress. We do not assess learning progress through class tests or grades, but rather through dialogue. Through this personal exchange, we can determine the next steps.
